International Day of Persons with Disablities
December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Established by the United Nations, the day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. To learn more, please click here.

MHSD confirms eligibility criteria
A letter from the Honourable Rich Coleman, Minister of Housing and Social Development, clarifies the recent regulatory amendment of the Community Living Authority Act. The regulation change confirm's CLBC current eligibility policy. MHSD has also released an information bulletin outlining eligibility criteria.

MCFD addresses transfer of services for children and youth
The Honourable Tom Christensen, Minister of Children and Family Development, has released a letter addressing the recent ministerial changes affecting children and youth served by CLBC. There are two version of the letter, one to parents and one to service providers.

Annual Service Plan Report: April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008
The Annual Report was prepared under the direction of the CLBC Board of Directors in accordance with the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act. This report represents a comprehensive picture of CLBC's actual performance in relation to the September 2007 Service Plan.

MCFD and CLBC developing transition plan for children's services
On June 23, 2008, government announced changes in ministry responsibilities. Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) is now reporting to the Honourable Rich Coleman, the Minister responsible for the Ministry of Housing and Social Development.
